Day 1: 4/15/20

Hello!

My name is Sam and I am a 15-year-old as of this post. It's nice to meet you! This blog will be me just talking about my daily life while also including some empowering and fun activities. During this pandemic, I am staying home, studying and doing schoolwork. It has already been a few weeks since my school closed and honestly, I kinda miss school!

Now don't get me wrong -- school is REALLY stressful but goddamn, I miss talking with and seeing all my friends and teachers every day... it gave me something to do. Now I'm stuck studying all day and playing Animal Crossing, which is a VERY fun game, I've put in over eighty hours into that game already... yikes.

I'm now gonna talk about something extremely boring: me :D. I'm a current sophomore in high school and I'm a Korean-American (안녕하세요!!!). I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and that is definitely not something you see every day... a gay Asian. I've always been proud of myself... but not really. I love talking about the boys I see with my friends but when I go home, I shut that side of myself down. My parents are very religious and intolerant of the LGBTQ+ community which is definitely a bummer but I hope one day, I can build up the courage to come out and I hope they will accept me.

NOW let's talk about school! I'm currently grinding for my upcoming AP exams in May and I'm taking three: Calc AB, Euro, and Bio. This is my first year taking any AP classes so I don't know why I took THREE but I guess I'm a madman :P Let's talk about each AP class!

  • Calc AB: my best class out of the three... but still worried about the exam. There's a LOT to memorize and it's kinda hard to apply the concepts I learn in class to real-life problems.
  • Bio: my favorite and most interesting class. I love science and medicine so this was a good class! That said, the class is pretty hard for me and there's a TON of concepts to understand soooo I'm just studying and reviewing.
  • Euro: yikes,, I always sucked at history but honestly Europe has a very rich history! Anyone who loves learning about history should definitely take this class.
I am a bit stressed about other things concerning college however... I really need to work on getting really strong extracurricular and improving my standardized test scores because they are NOT good at the moment. I have been trying to get my reading SAT score up but it's really hard for me. If anyone has any tips, PLEASE give me some, they'd be greatly appreciated!

I also love listening to Korean music! Although I do prefer listening to ballads, I love listening to a lot of other genres as well! Later in this post, I'll post all my favorite things that happened today including my favorite song for today :D

A lot of people are going through hard times at the moment... we're all new to this kind of thing since it hasn't happened in a LONG time so it's very hard to adjust to. I do hope you and your closed ones are staying safe and washing your hands! It may seem annoying but it pays off, don't worry.

I don't really have anything else to share! Today was just another boring day soooo here are my favorites of the day!
Favorite Songs: Dumhdurum - Apink & Untitled, 2014 - G-DRAGON
Favorite Event: K.K. Slider came to perform in my Animal Crossing island today!
(If things actually happened today and I went to school today, this list would be much longer and more interesting but this is all you're getting today. Sorry T-T)

Here is a fun math problem!
Marie asks her mom to cook some dumplings for lunch since she's really hungry. As her mom is preparing lunch, she realizes she forgot to ask Marie how many dumplings she wanted today and her mom can't disturb Marie at the moment since she's taking an online exam for her class. Her mom knows Marie always wants either five or six dumplings. However, her mom and her sister also want some dumplings to eat and each wants to have at least four dumplings to eat. Is there a minimum amount of dumplings Marie's mom can cook in order to feed Marie five OR six dumplings and still have enough dumplings to evenly feed at least four dumplings to herself and Marie's sister?

Reminder: Each and every one of you is beautiful in your own, special way! Don't get caught up in the vortex of social media that only shows the "perfect" people. You are amazing and most importantly, UNIQUE! Don't change because you are perfect the way you are <3
